Founded in 1950, Metalcraft has supplied hand-powered tools to hundreds of thousands of
customers in more than 60 countries.
Designed to be simple, effective and easy to operate; our tools are used by crafters, DIYers, hobbyists and businesses.
They are also wide used by the education sector to teach Engineering, Design & Technology to students in schools and colleges.
A proud history & global reputation
From our head office in the fishing port of Hull on the East Yorkshire coast, we are proud to be a long-standing British manufacturer.
Originally founded by brothers Jeff and Cliff Wood, we remain part of the family-run parent company J & C R Wood Ltd, owned and operated by Cliff’s sons Ian and Barry, who remain actively involved.
Having built a reputation for quality and innovative products, our sales now extend beyond the UK and throughout Europe, the USA, Australia, China and Africa.
Promoting education & engineering
Since our early days, the full range of Metalcraft tools has evolved dramatically – and now includes materials, fixings and accessories.
Many items from this comprehensive range are supplied to customers in the DIY, commercial, industrial and educational sectors.
As a STEM Ambassador, we work in partnership with schools, colleges and training centres to encourage young people to consider careers and higher education in science, technology, engineering and maths.
